"Upscale" plate lunches and bentos compared to Zippys and L&L. The prices are a little higher but it's well worth it. The daily specials are great but run out quickly.

Hole-in-the-wall Japanese restaurant like you would find under train tracks in Tokyo. Akasaka has a great sushi bar with very fresh fish and seafood. The toro is awesome, but so is everything else. Their hot cooked food is good too. Tenpura, udon, broiled fish, sizzling new york steak... Beer is kept on ice, not in the fridge, so it's cold and refreshing. Make a reservation because this place is always full. They have an upstairs but prefer to keep everyone downstairs in the main dining area. Ask for the free crab-cucumber starter, it's a winner!

Tom's Tip: Call ahead and ask for a table in the tatami room. Unless you like sitting back to back with the person on the table behind you. This place is not for the claustrophobic.

pizza is excellent and fresh. also make sure to try the hot sandwiches esp the sausage or meatball. service is slow to unbearable on the weekends but on the weekday's they can crank orders out.

Great place for a date or a casual meeting. Food is reasonable and you can always find coupons.

Overall, I thought the food was good. I had the seafood linguini that was served family style (good for 3-6 people). I must admit the chocolate souffle was one of the best. The service was poor. First of all the waiter was very rude and even used his shoe to kick my purse under the table! Secondly, he showed a total lack of patience. He tried to cover it up with fake smiles but it was obvious by the rolling of his eyes. Quality of the food could not make up for the lack of quality service.
