who ate the some kind of pasta
Great place for a date or a casual meeting. Food is reasonable and you can always find coupons.

who ate the Chocolate souffle on Friday, August 31, 2007
Overall, I thought the food was good. I had the seafood linguini that was served family style (good for 3-6 people). I must admit the chocolate souffle was one of the best. The service was poor. First of all the waiter was very rude and even used his shoe to kick my purse under the table! Secondly, he showed a total lack of patience. He tried to cover it up with fake smiles but it was obvious by the rolling of his eyes. Quality of the food could not make up for the lack of quality service.

Another favorite ramen shop of mine besides Tenkaippin. Very flavorful broth. Try their chashiu, it's one of the best Japanese style chashiu in the State. Fun and comfortable ambiance with good service. If you're a big eater, try a combination set, ramen and a chashiu-don (chashiu over rice in a bowl).

Tom's Tip: Bud light is cheap here so suck up a few!

If you have the appreciation for authentic Japanese style ramen, Tenkaippin is the place to go. If you like Ezogiku and Sanoya's, don't bother. Tenkaippin is a huge chain in Japan. Our version here in Hawaii seems to be a locally owned small business. Their kottari ramen is for serious ramen eaters only...the soup is thick and flavorful. Most people wouldn't be able to handle it. Try the asari version which is closer to what you're used to. Their karaage chicken is one of very few in the world that is cooked well done and crispy, a definite winner for me. Parking is non-existant so drop by for a great ramen meal the next time you're shopping in Waikiki at 88 Tees or Leather Soul.

Tom's Tip: Ask for a 10% Kamaaina discount if you're cheap.

Main location of what seems like a million Italian restaurants by mogol, Thomas Ky. Great Italian food, or what I like to call Chinese/Vietnamese Italian, as most of their cooks are Chinese or Vietnamese. Cold Antipasti plate to start is a great way to begin. Their fresh bread is always piping hot and delicious. Favorites include Pollo Saltimboca (ask for it with red sauce!), any seafood dish, the Tenderloin Steak (awesome!), any salad, and actually pretty much anything on the menu. It's a nice hideaway from the hustle and bustle of Ala Moana Shopping Center, a perfect way to take a break from shopping.

Tom's Tip: if you're dining alone, the bar is a great place to enjoy a great meal and catch a game on tv.
